I got tasked with answering questions for a high school girl about a career in writing (it's for a career class). A friend from college recommended me to her. At first I'm like "sure, though I wouldn't call my writing a career" and my friends like "well, you're the only successful writer we know", which I replied "that's sad, but okay".

Then I see the question about can I afford the life I want on this career. I fear I'm gonna break this poor girl's heart lol. I have made $1 this year so far.

Yeah, that's a bit of a pickle. But I would try to not break her heart, let her know it's basically a crapshoot. Like music, there's a million people out there that can write/play/sing and got their ideas, but virtually everything has been done. Right off you gotta have your own hook and definitely have some luck. Definitely hard out there for a pimp.

I am seeing Sinners on Saturday and this is absolutely locked in.

I really hate this advanced ticket seating bull shit.

I decided to do a double matinee showing of both Until Dawn and Sinners for Saturday and I'm trying to time it perfectly so when one movie gets out, the other is a few minutes from starting. Checking the showtimes and all the seats I like are taken already.

Most of these fuckers are gonna cancel last minute as usual and the seats I like are gonna be empty.
