It probably feels that way because it’s pushing back on your beliefs which are more important to you than just enjoying yourself. Older movies were significantly more preachy in the way they pushed their liberal politics, by the way. There was no subtlety and it would end with the smart, moral force giving some lecture at the end. This was pretty commonplace.

What I've gathered so far is I'm far more accepting of opposing beliefs than you are and am capable of recognizing a poorly structured film with a political point vs. a well structured film with a political point.

i've had a parent shout about the movie logan is shitty liberal trash because wolverine is "replaced by a girl character", as just one small example, so i get a little worked up about this.

It’s nuts to me how any minority character doing anything substantial now becomes the “liberal agenda”, as if the proper course was to only have white men in those roles forever. When they aren’t, it’s “forced”.
