I prefer mediocre acting to overacting by far, though. I prefer unknowns in my horrors.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Noop. King was probably the best overall of the bunch. I think Curtis was okay all the way through, she and her friends could only do so much with cheesy Debra Hill dialogue (I roll my eyes so hard with all those documentaries where Debra Hill brags how she got to write all the "girl talk" ugh, still love the movie but damn). Burns is absolutely stellar during the 3rd act, but basically forgettable before then, and Langenkamp didn't even become a decent actress until New Nightmare, she's terrible in the first Nightmare (though not as terrible as her mom) and less than mediocre in Dream Warriors lolFoo wrote:Is Jamie Lee Curtis the worst actress of all the first installment final girls?
King, Langenkamp, Burns, are all better in their respective movies.King is pretty consistent all the way through the movie, and good. Hell, she's even good in her improv dialogue that opened pt. 2.

Overacting does not mean good acting. The mom in NOES was terrible because she overacted.Jason wrote:I prefer mediocre acting to overacting by far, though. Why is someone not paying me to sit in some kind of chamber and pump out bad ideas! I could be a living version of that machine in BIG. Walk up, drop a hundred in the slot, and I will give you a bad idea or advice you never wanted!DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Would watch.Foo wrote:Candyman, Candyman, Candyman... *Eddie's famous laugh echos in the background*zombie wrote:i really would like to see murphy get the chance to do a serious horror flick. he tried with vampire in brooklyn before it got derailed during production, on top of this.Foo wrote:I am not counting established actresses as final girls. I get that for today. I was talking about other things that have happened recently that Foo addressed in another thread. Jeesh man. Lolshowa58taro wrote:Same goes for CNN, Eric Holder, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. Not right leaning or right wing. Received threats.

Exactly. I meant in general and not about today's events.zombie wrote:"people on the right and left going crazy in this country" and "bomb threats all over the u.s. today" are to be read as two different sentences. respond to them accordingly.showa58taro wrote:Left and right?! Lmao.....that was me the last 2 minutes of it. I did great though! My blood pressure has been the best it's ever been. I have had doctor's asking me if I have been diagnosed for high blood pressure since I was in my early 20s. No one wanted to believe such a young guy had high blood pressure.Ava wrote:Show em' how its done!Jmac Attack wrote:At the doctor's getting a heart stress test done![]()
My brother who is closest in age to me (he is 45, and I am 43) had a heart attack at age 42. He never drank but like five times when we were teens. He never smoked. Always ate healthy. With my heredity, my doctor said I would have had a heart attack early on no matter what. But I have killed a few years off my already probably shortened life with my past bad habits.
My father had a massive heart attack when he was only 33 years old. He was working on sewer lines in the hospital basement when he had his BIG ONE. If he had been at home (we lived in the country), he would have most certainly have died. Sigh.

Someone should re-dub Candyman with Donkey from Shrek. I bet it works.

The guy who did Get Out is remaking Candyman. Hard to imagine anyone but Tony Todd in the role. He has such a distinctive look and voice.

Safe hands with Jordan Peele though. He’s proving quite the force.Monster wrote:![]()
