White Noise

White Noise (2005) Poster

(Reviewed by Edgar484) - Let me start off by saying how, many of you had said (not all of you) that some movies didn't have enough gore, etc. Well, horror movies don't need to have all this gore to make it scary, or even good. Which brings me to this movie, White Noise, which is a good example of how some horror movies don't have to have much gore. This movie uses suspense, and a pretty good story, to keep you interested in it.

The story starts off with this guy, who has a pretty descent life, he has a son and a wife who's pregnant. Well, his wife goes off to work, but than as he waits for her to come back home, she doesn't seem to turn up anywhere. This just kept me wondering and asking myself many questions, like where is she, and what happened to her, and how did she die (since of course we know she dies by the movie trailers). Than we find out later that she died supposedly by drowning in the lake or ocean (which isn't really true...) where her car was found. They hadn't found her body yet though.

The rest of the movie goes off, as a guy tells him that he was getting MESSAGES from his wife, and that he should really listen to them. At first he doesn't believe this guy, and says its a load of crap, and decides to forget about him. Later on in the movie though, he decides to see what he was talking about, and he gets absorbed into this whole EVP thing. As soon as the guy that asked him to listen to the tape dies, though, he is on his own.

The rest of the movie goes along pretty smoothly, and we learn that people who are YET to die, can contact him through EVP too. And so he decides to save their lives. This got really interesting, and had a few scenes that really made me jump (for example the scene with the car and the baby).
I'm not going to tell you how the movie at the end turned out, but it did kind of surprise me. Overall this was a pretty good movie, and I give it a 4/5.
