(Reviewed by Snake-666) - An average film, not up to the
standard of the original. This is the type of film you watch with
a few beers and some friends. The third of the Night Of The Demons series
(this film being known as Demon House in the UK) is an about average horror
film.
There are no real scares to speak of, and the acting and direction is quite
poor, though one may believe that the direction could have been better with
more resources made available to the director.
Amelia Kinkade puts in a typically polished performance as seductive demon
Angela, but the rest of the cast let her down. Amelia carries this film, and
it's probably her performance that I can keep coming back to this movie. The
other actors are the typical teenagers that make their living out of playing
dumb roles in poor teen horrors.
There are some interesting moments throughout the film. A particular scene
involving Angela and a gun is particularly worth watching. The start of the
movie, however, seems too quickly hashed together to get the kids to Hull
House. The special effects throughout the film are below average but
tolerable, except for one scene involving a snake. And like I say, the
performances by the actors are poor.
This film is worth a watch, but newcomers to the series would be much better
off watching the original first. This does not meet many standards, it's
probably on par in terms of quality with movies like 'Jack Frost' and 'Night
of the Creeps'. Although, even after watching this I still would like to see
a Night of the Demons IV. |
