Following their link to Amazon, you can find that the upcoming DVD release of Friday The 13th part 3 looks to be released in 3-D complete with four pairs of 3-D glasses. No other specs are mentioned for the upcoming DVD, but parts 1 and 2 are getting the special edition treatment. I’m curious how the 3-D will work with regular TV sets, or even “HD” TV sets.

Producer Brian Yuzna is looking to produce a trio of 3-D horror films. Variety got the scoop on the upcoming movies, to be made in Indonesia. The films will come from Komodo Films, a new Jakarta based production shingle owned by Yuzna.

Unholy Reunion takes ideas of killing being an art, bringing meaning to otherwise empty vessels. The film follows this artistic notion through the look of the film, actions of the villains, and even through the arts of deception and revenge. This gives the film a lot of room to experiment.
The film opens up on Monica Telmig (Grubb) who is cheating on her husband, Adkov (Berbig), a passionate artist who works with her as well as the man she is sleeping with. This man is promising the world to Monica convincing her to leave Adkov since he believes he can treat her so much better. However, when Adkov bursts in to the room in a violent rage all of these promises quickly vanish. After he murders Monica’s lover right before her very eyes, he kisses her only to hack her to pieces. Variety has recently reported that Steven Spielberg and Will Smith will be teaming up to do a remake of Chan-wook Park’s ‘Oldboy’. Spielberg’s Dreamworks Pictures is currently in negotiations for the rights to the film.

Variety has news from AFM that IM Global Home Entertainment has acquired sales rights for two sequels to ‘2001 Maniacs’. Tim Sullivan will be returning to write and direct both films, and Robert Englund comes back as the murderous mayor from the first.

Writer/director, Jay Lee, used Eugène Ionesco’s play, Rhinoceros, as inspiration for his film, Zombie Strippers. The underground strip club in the film called “The Rhino” is even named after this. In the film, you guessed it an outbreak of zombie strippers take the place of Rhinos. You can expect a gory fun time of decapitating flesh and a rising epidemic of the living dead. Surprisingly enough, the film doesn’t limit itself to this alone though. It has a political agenda, but it uses the zombie strippers and actions of the other characters to show this rather than simply telling us these critiques. Continue reading this post…
