Deadline recently got an exclusive scoop concerning a new remake of Stephen King’s ‘Carrie’.
The word is that director Kimberly Peirce (’Boys Don’t Cry’, ‘Stop Loss’) is in talks to helm the film for MGM and Screen Gems. This version of ‘Carrie’ is said to be closer to the original source material than Brian DePalma’s film which starred Sissy Spacek in the title role.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa penned the script. There is no word on who will be cast at this time.
