Shock Til You Drop has reported that Twisted Pictures is developing a big screen film version of the horror graphic novel ‘Sorrow’.

The company announced it has secured the rights to Rick Remender, Seth Peck, and Francesco Francavilla’s tale which was published through Image Comics. Michael Hidalgo (writer of ‘The Butcherhouse Chronicles’) has been tapped to write the adapt the graphic novel.

Described as a mix of Exorcist-like terror with the dread of ‘Twin Peaks’, ‘Sorrow’ is set in the eponymous town of Nevada that was ravaged by nuclear testing. The sign at the front of the town reads “Population Zero”. Howevr, the locals have a very different story. When a young woman, searching for her Native American ancestry, stumbles into town, she soon discovers that not all that is buried is dead.

Rick, Seth and Francesco have created a throwback to 70s and 80s horror/thriller films with the perfect mix of terror and memorable characters, The idea is to make a great film that resonates with fans of the genre.
