Variety has reported that Twisted Pictures is taking over the ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ film franchise.

The rights-owners to the Texas Chainsaw franchise, Bob Kuhn and Kim Henkel (the latter of which co-wrote the original film with Tobe Hooper), recently had a deal going with Platinum Dunes on a per-pic basis, which led to the recent remake and prequel. The deal made with Twisted Pictures is for multiple films according to Variety’s sources.

Carl Mazzocone, Mark Burg, and Oren Koules will produce the first feature under the new deal, which is planned as a way to contemporize the storyline for a 3D film. Stephen Susco is onboard to write the upcoming film.
