Bloody Disgusting has recently learned that Sony Screen Gems is prepping a fifth film in their ‘Resident Evil’ series, while the fourth is still in the works.
While the fourth film, ‘Resident Evil 4: Afterlife’, is scheduled to hit theaters on August 27, 2010; the studio is already going ahead with a reboot of their franchise, titled ‘Resident Evil Begins’. No word on when the project is set to start production, but it is said to be a long ways off. This upcoming film will, more than likely, serve as a retelling of the events of the first ‘Resident Evil’ flick.

Can’t wait for some other company to start actually adapting the games, and just call it the original title of “Biohazard” and have a ball, because clearly after 7 years, Paul Wes Anderson still hasn’t gotten his head out of his ass.
