Screen Daily has recently reported that Ryuhei Kitamura (’Versus’, ‘Midnight Meat Train’) is attached to direct ‘Magdalena’, an adaptation of comic book series from Top Cow, for Valhalla Motion Pictures, Platinum Studios, and Top Cow Productions.
The premise of the comic book follows a protector of the Catholic Church who is descended from Christ’s bloodline and wields the Spear Of Destiny as her weapon of choice. Holly Brix (’The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations’, ‘Mile Zero’) is set to pen the screenplay for the film.
Jenna Dewan (’Tamara’) and Kyle Goss (Hellboy II: The Golden Army) are attached to star.
