Reuters has recently reported that the ‘Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter’ book series is set to be adapted into a made for TV movie, and possibly a series.

IFC and Lionsgate will be teaming up to bring the novels, written by Laurel K. Hamilton, to the small screen. Glen Morgan (Final Destination) has signed to the project as director, and it is expected sometime in 2010.

The books follow a woman named Anita Blake and her ongoing conflicts with the supernatural as she attempts to solve a series of supernatural mysteries, come to terms with her own abilities. The first novel in the series ‘Guilty Pleasures’ was published in 1993 and the latest novel is due for release this June. Hamilton has also written a comic book series for the character titled ‘Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter Guilty Pleasures’, from Marvel Comics and Dabel Brothers Productions.
