Fear Net has learned that Ron Perlman is set to take over, from Bruce Campbell, as Elvis in the upcoming sequel to ‘Bubba Ho-Tep’, titled ‘Bubba Nosferatu’.
Here is what Perlman had to say on the subject.
It’s a follow-up to Bubba Ho-Tep. Don Coscarelli made that wonderful cult film and Bruce Campbell played Elvis. This is a follow-up to that. Bruce, for one reason or another decided that he didn’t want to go on with the character and they asked if I would and I definitely would. It is on track and with any help from the gods and the elements we’ll be shooting that thing next fall.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackHmm…I don’t like this at all. Ron Perlman is ok, but I don’t think he’ll be able to embody Elvis like Campbell did. We shall see I guess.
I love Ron Perlman and think he’s very talented but no one can replace Bruce Campbell as Elvis in a Bubba sequel. No one.
Ron Perlman is going to make one ugly Elvis, that’s for damn sure :p
I’m curious to see how he does, as I think he is a fine actor. But I’m leaning towards agreeing with ISU and Bac, it’ll be damn hard to make this sequel just as good as the original, without Campbell.
There’s a reason why Perlman is usually covered in latex in his films.
I knew Campbell wasn’t coming back for awhile now because of him and Coscarelli having a disagreement about how the sequel was going(or some such shit, I can’t remember), but at least they got a decent actor to take his place. Perlman’s great in most things I’ve seen him in, so hopefully this won’t be an exception.
