Night of the DemonsAs the news of Remakes comes rolling in, and we’re reminded that not all remakes are equal, there is a new story of yet another remake. This time, however, it’s not a beloved franchise of the 80s or an exploitation film of the 70s that’s being remade. Instead, a 1957 film is being brought into the new millenium in the capable hands of Kenneth Branagh. Branagh, whose previous forray into horror was in fact Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, has decided to try his luck with “Night of the Demon” (not to be confused with Night of the Demons from the 80s). When he spoke to Fangoria, he said:

“I think it’s a sensational movie and I think it’s ripe for redoing. We can be quite different with a new version of it.”

As the news of remakes continues to emerge, at least this story rings of an old film that could use an update, and which hasn’t been widely seen, and yet is a thoroughly interesting piece.
