Variety has reported that David Hayter (screenwriter for ‘X-men’ and ‘Watchmen’) is set to make his directorial debut with a werewolf film called ‘Slaughter’s Road’, through his newly formed Dark Hero Studios. Filming on the film is set to begin this summer.

‘Slaughter Road’ will star Thomas Dekker (From Within) while Ray Stevenson (Punisher: War Zone) is in talks to join the cast as well. According to Variety, Hayter conceived ‘Road’, which he also penned, after being offered a slew of werewolf movies and found enough flaws in each to never want to make such a pic; genre-savvy friends changed his mind. Steven Paul, through Crystal Sky Productions, will co-produce.

Hayter is also going to write and direct ‘Demonology’ which he says is “about an American kid who goes to one of these schools in Belgium, but it brings my own horrible experiences of school to life.”
