The Hollywood Reporter has recently reported that Stephen King’s ‘It’ is set to be remade, with Warner Bros, Lin Pictures, and Vertigo Entertainment partnering to bring it to the big screen.
Writer Dave Kajganich (The Invasion) has signed on to pen the screenplay for the upcoming film, and already talks of story changes are underway. Word is that Kajganich’s tale is set in present day and willl ignore the fact that King’s narrative bounces between ‘58 and ‘85. The core of the story will follow a group of youngsters who once took on a creature and are called back together in their adult years to battle it one more time.
Kajganich has reportedly penned a remake for ‘Pet Semetary’ as well, and is at work writing one for ‘Escape from New York.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackUnless they get Tim Curry to reprise the role, it won’t be worth a damn. And fuck this Kaj guy. If all he’s doing is writing remakes, he obviously has no imagination of his own.
Sweet, it won’t be a made for SciFi channel remake (like they’ve mentioned for several years). Not digging that they want to ignore the past though, that’s actually what made the tale great, not the boring adult parts.
I agree that Tim Curry should be Pennywise in this one as well. I really hope they concentrate a little on the kids, being that it makes the story that much scarrier (kids are more afraid of demonic clowns than adults are). I own the original on Dvd and to this day it’s my favorite horror movie of all time, (it still gives me the chills) so I hope they do it some justice and not fuck it up.
