The Hollywood Reporter has recently learned that Sonny Malhi (producer of ‘The Strangers’) has written a thriller titled ‘The Roommate’, and that actress Leighton Meester (’Gossip Girl’) is set to star. Christian E. Christiansen (’Zoomers’) has signed on to direct the upcoming horror film.
The story follows Sara (Leighton Meester), a college student who is randomly assigned to a freshman dorm with a stranger named Rebecca. Things turn deadly when Rebecca becomes obsessed and begins targeting people in Sara’s life.
