Directed By: Matthew TrotterStarring: Bruce Walker, Rocky Paterson, Mary-Catherine Quintana and Vince PhillipRating: 7 Out Of 10 SKULLSI picked this film up many years ago when my local video shop beside of Rite-Aid sold the store to it’s second owners. The new owner was more into getting new films on VHS and trying to get rid of some that didn’t rent anymore. Over the years that I went in the store every Friday night this was one I never even saw until the day I bought it for $2, which by then I wasn’t even collecting but I had quite a collection starting to grow. The cover made me buy it, I know it’s not much but still when your in the begining stages of High School and you enjoy a good plot synopsis this took the cake.Now let’s learn a little about “StealthHunters.”

“StealthHunters” was released by VCII Home Entertainment around 1991, VCII released many Horror films such as “Boogeyman” “Boogeyman 2″ and “Night Of The Demon” (The Bigfoot Movie.) All the research I have done before writing this basicly tells me that the film had a limited Release on VHS in 1992 and now the only place to find even a glace at the VHS cover is other review sites that barely even mention the film itself.

Let’s beging the review.

A slow camera begins the film with a Interstate setting which starts “StealthHunters.” Cut to a house where a Doctor (Who wears a T-shirt) show’s another Doctor (Who actually has a suit) a video of a new Science experiment entitled “The Soilders Of Tomorrow” where tests are performed. This leads to our doctor (Lab Technition…My bad.) to be interrupted by the company who is making the SuperSoilderSerum’s Hit-men, the Doctor (Or Detective…IDK) get’s a Shotgun blast to the chest falling behind the couch. Then a slow-mo jump to dodge another Shotgun blast by the Lab guy, who ends up face to face with Mr.Shotgun, but Hitman #1 walks away and then enters Hitman #2 who tells how these Experiments are gonna make him $$$RICH$$$ with a end result of a Pistol shot to the head for the Lab guy.

Now where at a Military base where a few Soilders start talking about paying for sex and how some Prostitutes charge by the Inch….(Great writing) They are then dispatched to board the Bus. Then a Doctor from TechStar (The Video from the begining) who wants the Cheif Commander to begin using the super soilders or “StealthHunters” for their next mission. Cut to a few Scientists who work on each “StealthHunter” (I’m gonna say SH to shorten it.) They chat around for a bit only to have a few of the “SH’s” to rise from their tables but the Scientists press a button and each lay back down. Hitman #2 (Who works for TechStar) is back who is now giving orders to the Cheif Commander and showing him a test-run of how the “SH’s” work. Now a quick thing to point out is that each “SH’s” mask is kinda creepy, basicly the top part of the mask is shaped almost like a UFO with orange colored eye lenses and they twitch their head like a bird.

We’re now back to our Military guys doing a practice exercise, who are begining to worry why no-one has contacted them. Soon the Military guys are invaded by the “SH’s” and they begin to go on a killing spree with Gun’s and Knifes, leaving only one who escapes. We’re now introduced to some new faces…Yes we now have campers to give this film that lack of quality. The next scene is a mini-montage of the campers driving and the Military guy (I still haven’t figured his name yet.) being chased by the “SH’s” in the woods, which leads the campers to cross paths and run over one of the “SH’s. They begin to fire at the campers for killing one of them, as they drive off the Military guy jumps on the back of the van and joins the group.

This would be a good place to state that the “SH” the van ran over was the one who carried the Computer, which was the brains of the group that controlled their minds. Now with him gone each “SH” only has the urge to kill and can’t be stopped.

Our group finds an abandoned building in which they rush inside due to the constant chase from the “SH,” they finally pull down the buildings door and chop off an invadeing “SH’s” Arm. HAHAHA now it’s a montage of people walking angry down hallways. The Cheif Commander get’s word on his men by fax and goes to find Hitman #2, we get some more story elements of why he chose to pick this Platoon to do the experiment. ALL HAIL TECHSTAR!!!

Finally the Militaty guy’s name is revealed Nathan Burke!!!!

Burke roams the building looking for supplies, while the others begin to form barricades, struggle to get alone with each other and get invaded from the roof by “SH’s”. A Gun fight ensues killing Charlie and if my count was correct 4 “SH’s.” After a round of calling Charlie a Son-of-a-bitch for dying by his peers, Burke covers him up. Burke then helps 1 of the females of the group from a gunshot wound to the leg i think. Then one of the “SH’s” with a Machete sticking out of his head tries to attack the group again, one member goes Psycho and blows him apart with the Shotgun who then starts a fight with Burke, in which he loses and get’s tied up. Back at the Military base

the Cheif is wheeled to become a “SH” by the crazy Doctor (Yes…I finally figured out which was a Doctor.) Soon another Soilder the Doctor is working on rises from the table and attacks the Doc and knocking over the bed the Cheif was on. Where he makes his escape.

Back with the group nothing is happening, (Except for telling people how they feel.) A Helicopter flies over making Burke jump to his feet wanting to get to the roof and send a flare. That one Psycho guy get’s untied now when a “SH” attacks the windows, only to ask for the truck keys. Burke makes it to the roof and cut’s the ropes where the “SH’s” are climbing up, the Psycho guy starts the Truck and begins to back out of the building and bust open the door’s. “SH’s” begin to attack the group killing another member, the truck breaks down and Burke is fighting a “SH” on the roof shooting him with the flare gun and hanging him inside the building. The Psycho guy get’s shot and starts to crawl away from the truck being chased by a “SH.” The Helicopter flies by as the Psycho guy reaches for his lighter and blows up the van creating a big enough flare for the Heilcopter to see. Burke falls from the room to the inside of the building and the FLARED “SH” gives one more surprize attack only to be blown away by the Shotgun. Only Burke and the one girl who likes to express her feelings are left, but are awakened by TECHSTAR minions and Hitman #2. We hear more about the all powerful TECHSTAR and expresses his feelings for what to do with the female survivor (Because…You know it’s “Strickly Business”) But Burke succeeds and uses the chair cannon to explode Hitman #2 to bits. The TECHSTAR goons enter and are soon interruped by The Cheif, after a few words of honor to Burke, a few kind words to the lady and a total dismise of TECHSTAR (Or so we think,) the film is over.
