The Hollywood Reporter has dropped news that John Carpenter will be returning to the directors chair for ‘The Ward, a psychological ghost story.
The film will follow the disturbing experience of a young woman (played by Amber Heard) in an institution who is terrorized by a ghost. ‘The Ward’ was penned by writing duo Michael and Shawn Rasmussen. Doug Mankoff, Mike Marcus, and Andy Spaulding of Echo Lake Entertainment will be producing the upcoming horror film, which is set to start filming in May. Carpenter had this to say of his film.
The Ward is the kind of script that I’ve been waiting for: A complex, visceral story, full of suspense and scares.
