Variety has reported that Rob Zombie has officially signed as writer/director for the sequel to his 2007 remake of ‘Halloween’, for Dimension Films. Production will begin in March 2009, with a planned release sometime in October.
Rob Zombie had this to say of his decision to return to the franchise.
“I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again. Now, we’ll be hauling ass, and that’s the problem making a movie called ‘Halloween’: If you come out Nov 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I’d be fine.”

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackGood news. I thought he did a pretty good job with the first film especially with the reimagining and bringing something new to the table. Hopefully he can further that with the next film as well.
I can look forward to this. Zombie’s film was still better than most of the sequels, so it had that going for it. I still laugh hysterically during “Love Hurts” though.
