Well, this film has definatly had more emotion and feel to it compared to most films this year. Somewhat like Twilight but with a stronger story and atmosphere, this film is not to miss!

During this film, its obvious that the story dosen’t revolve around the cliche “OMG! There’s a vampire living next door to me” type of story - though most vampire stories of today rarely concentrate on that anymore. This film mainly revolvs around Oskar and Eli’s lives. Oskar was always abused and tortured by the bullies at his school - think “Lord of the Flies” bullying - and his only companion seemed to be his mother. While Eli is a nomad vampire who is catered by her supposed ’servant’ into getting her blood no matter what happens.

This film’s pace is kept at a slow line, concentraiting more on character development and proggression of the tale. But this film does not stray away into keeping it’s feet in the horror genre. While there are two CG scenes that may stick out, the rest are done beautifuly with ingenuity and motion to it! (especially with the ending *wink*wink*).

The film does succumb to the slow-moving pace instead of a fast-paced action type of picture. But the film works out so well that it will keep viewers glued to the screen. A HEAVY suggestion for anyone looking into the vamp subgenre.
