If you are a fan of Slasher Movies, you know the formula: Someone is woefully wronged, often killed by a group of negligent (frequently high) kids, and years later the one who was wronged is going to return and try to take revenge.  It’s a classic and fairly basic formula, but it is, some would argue, tried and true. You can rarely fail to make a good slasher film if you stick to this formula. Throw in some pretty women and good deaths, and you have yourself a movie.  Well for “Knock Knock” you’re forced to witness a disgrace to the genre.

What a dreadful movie, I mean the only thing that was decent was the Gore!  It was horrible! The acting was stupid and you would think for a slasher movie there would be tenseful music not some crappy pop tunes.  Even though I had high expectations for this film, once again I was let down. It’s your average Slasher movie, some teenagers pick on another classmate, an accident happens and years later he takes revenge on the classmates children, killing them in the style of their parents line of work. The Gore was done very nicely,  wheather it was a head decapatation or dismemberment; even though most happened the first 30 minutes it  somehow managed to calm down to storytelling the rest of the film. The acting and scream responses from ’said’ parents were dull and unentertaining.  (Except for the lead Actresses Sister in the film, that was a great moment. ) The detective sub-plot was, in the less uneventful. It felt like watching a episode of NYPD Blue with some elements of a Horror movie tossed in for the hell of it. Overall, it’s nothing new to Horror fans and rather dull compared to other films in the genre. Don’t expect a great movie, just be prepared to be bored to death by the sheer use of the same dialouge and music. Plus disregard the comment by Fangoria,  because Fangoria is so badass they thought putting their comment twice on the DVD would be cool, but they don’t know what a true Horror film is nowadays.  Save the time you have to live and do something else.
