
The Ghostbusters are getting back together. Variety has reported that Columbia Pictures is serious about continuing the franchise, which started in ‘84.The studio has signed Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (co-executive producers for ‘The Office’) to write the script for this new installment. It is. reportedly, designed to bring back together the original cast of Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson, though no cast is official yet.

this kicks ass, I just hope they don’t mess it up
Murray is the real big key here for me. I’ll still see it eventually with the others, but I’ll be opening day if Murray returns. No Stifler replacement can fill that void.
I’ll be very surprised to see them net Murray. I think we’re all thinking he’s gonna play the “I’m too prestigious now” card.
Oh yeah. He would definitely try to pull that card, but if he does, anyone can throw those Garfield movies back at him.
Personally I think it’s the kind of thing he’d like to take on again, to come back to the comedy a bit more rather than the more serious. I’m hopeful.
And what makes you think that? There are no Oscar noms and show biz smoozing in it for him! No stroking of the ego, nothing!
