There have been rumors concerning another ‘The Host’ film, but up until now it was thought to be a prequel of the 2006 Korean film. Variety has just revealed, though, that the plan is for a Chinese sequel.
The film will be a joint-production between Korean company Chungeorahm and Chinese company Stone Man Films. It will be written and directed by Ning Hao. This time the story will deal with a calamity caused when people ignore the monster due to greed. The sequel’s budget will be approximately $12 million with shooting expected to begin early next year with a release at the end of 2009.

Sweet! I hope it follows up with the quality of the first since that was a great monster film that dealt with a lot of different things. I am curious to see this one when it comes out.
