HBO which has brought us such great series as “The Sopranos”, “Deadwood”, “Entourage”, and “Six Feet Under” has decided to dive into the horror world with the upcoming series “True Blood”.  Alan Ball, the creator of “Six Feet Under” will be at the helm of this project which is based on the novel series “Southern Vampire” written by Charlaine Harris. The story takes place in Louisiana and follows the lives of vampires who survive in the human world by drinking manufactured synthetic blood from Japan. The series will be scary as well as contain some dark humor. Alan Ball was quoted in Daily Variety as saying, “Charlaine has created such a rich environment that’s very funny and at the same time very scary”. Ball won an Oscar for “American Beauty”.  The cast includes the very talented Anna Paquin who will play a waitress named “Sookie” who has the power to read people’s minds and falls in love with a vampire played by actor Stephen Moyer. This is Anna Paquin’s first time acting in a television series. If this series falls in  line with all of the others that HBO has given us then we should be in for a treat.  “True Blood” will be airing on HBO very soon. Stay tuned. anna
