The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Adam Sandler is preparing to start a genre label, under Happy Madison, his current production company, which is being referred to as “Scary Madison”. The first film under this new label will be a thriller titled ‘Shortcut’.

The movie centers on two brothers who come upon a rarely used shortcut in their new town, then soon discover the reasons why it is so rarely used. The script was written by Scott Sandler and Dan Hannon. Nicholaus Goosen, who directed ‘Grandma’s Boy’ for Happy Madison (Sandler’s parent production company) is set to helm the picture, with Andrew Seeley, Shannon Woodward, and Dave France signed as stars.

Production for the film is scheduled to start next month in Saskatchewan, with a SAG waiver already granted should there be a strike.
