According to Variety CineTei Films has aquired the rights to remake the classic 1978 rape/revenge horror film ‘I spit on your grave’. The original featured Camille Keaton as a young woman who is raped and left for dead. Soon she is out seeking her bloody revenge.

The film will be produced by Cinetel Prexy-CEO Paul Hertzberg and Lisa Hansen, with Jeff Klein, Alan Ostroff, Gary Needle, and Meir Zarchi (director of the original) as exec producers. Hertzberg had this to say of the project.

After seeing what was done with an R rating on films like ‘Saw’ and ‘Hostel,’ we think we can modernize this story, be competitive with what this marketplace expects and not have to aim for an NC-17 or X rating.
