Boogeyman had a chance to interview Leatherface himself, Bill Johnson. Bill was amazing as Leatherface in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2″. He is a very interesting guy and a true gentleman. Here are my 10 questions to Bill.

A message from Bill:
Thanks for having me onboard to communicate and connect with everybody! I really appreciate this opportunity to shout out to all you truly awesome fans everywhere, You Make all the Difference!

1. Excluding the films that you have worked on, what is your favorite horror movie and why?

Acknowledging I’ve seen all too few horror films, at this time Silence of the Lambs is my current fave. Top cast, director, writing, academy award winning performance, not the usual formulaic predictability, creepy, weird, scary, disturbing, interesting, absorbing…what’s not to like?

2. Who is your favorite scream queen?

Just love that Caroline Williams! She is All That and a free cell phone. I’d be Mr.Most Happy to be in a movie with her.

3. What is the strangest thing that someone has asked you to autograph?

A Prosthetic hook.

4. If you could make a horror movie with any actor/actress, who would it be and why?

Normally I’d factually say regarding the reality of the horror world as I presently know it and tell you I’d love to team up with the monster talent like, Sid or Kane or Bill Moseley, or Gunnar or Robert Englund or the fantastic Caroline Williams.
Leaving Reality Land far, far behind now, I’m going to say, Anthony Hopkins, my fave actor.

5. What was the first horror movie that you ever watched?

I was probably 9 or 10 years old. Don’t recall the specific title, it was a Frankenstein, with Boris Karloff. Wicked scary. Had bad dreams for a fair while after that.

6. What director would you absolutely love to work with and why?

First off, I would be crazy glad to work with Any director. Period.
Next, going to fantasy land: there’s many directors in and out of the horror genre that it would be my pleasure to work with, and out of that plethora of talent, one of the most intensely intriguing is David Cronenberg. He is really out there and such a distinctly unique artist film maker. Really love his work.

7. What is your favorite band and favorite song?

I’ve developed a fairly far ranging palette for music over the years. No particular fave song at the moment as no particular band either. I listen to Eklektikos Weekdays 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on KUT FM, 90.5, in Austin TX and it has a fab array of new, alternative bands and tunes. Few bands put out very much quality over a long period so I groove on the particular songs that are really re-listenable.
It really depends upon my mood and what I’m ready to listen to. I love satire so I’d go to Frank Zappa or the Firesign Theatre or the Cornbugs or the Kinks.
If I want cheering up I’ll listen to the Beatles or Telemann. If I’m lifting weights Led Zepplin, Cream, Al Green, Beethoven or Rachmaninoff.
If I’m doing QiGong or Tai Chi I like , Brian Eno, Vivaldi, and smooth Blues.
Vegging out with Brazilian Jazz as Jobim or quiet jazz, Tom Brewster.
There’s others but it depends on the moment.

8. What is your favorite non-horror movie?

I don’t have a single favorite, got many faves.
These are not so much made as a “movie” but as a mini-series for TV and I have watched them many times: Band of Brothers with Damon Lewis, and War and Peace with Anthony Hopkins. These are works that are 6+ hours long and lots of good action and acting.
Comedy: Funny Bones: little known Independent film, off the wall comedy with great acting, script editing.
From the books I’ve read so many, many times: Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Foreign Films: Babette’s Feast, Tampopo, SANJURO- really dig that Toshiro Mifune, Amelie, City of Lost Children and more…. but I digress…

9. When you’re not working, what do you do for fun?

Taken up learning the Argentine Tango. Difficult, interesting, absorbing, exciting.
Directing plays, especially new plays.
Love watching movies, good mini-series made for TV, reading a wide range of interests, playing bridge, surfing vids on StumbleUpon.

10. Are you working on any new projects that you would like to tell us about?

I’m working with a writing partner on a new horror screenplay having a great deal to do with Zombies. We’re getting really excited about this off the wall movie script.
