Director John Johnson, along with his production company Dark Stone Entertainment, is set to remake Ed Wood’s original film. It is scheduled for release on Sept 9, 2009 (09-09-09), and will be titled, simply, ‘Plan 9′. Johnson had this to say about the upcoming project.
Even if Eddie was a little off in in his filmmaking skills, you cannot deny his passion. I feel a strong camaraderie for the man and his work, and hope that I can make a film that would be as loved by audiences today as the original was for his generation…Only this time with it’s true intention.

This is a fucking outrage. Just leave it be. John Johnston - you’re an idiot. I refuse to see this.
They better make it weird, chaotic and not at all Hollywood-ized
It’s Ed’s legacy - it shouldn’t even be remade! Gah - I hate… things…
John Johnston? Don’t know who he is, but if it’s suppose to be Joe Johnston…well he can do some good. This would be his second remake in a row, after The Wolfman.
for one, its not joe johnston, not john johnston, not jeff, or jack, its JOHN JOHNSON! lol… i am a big fan of the original, ill say that, because i am… and a remake, i think is fine to make, since johnson, is a part of Darkstone entertainment for which if you have seen anything they have done, you will be able to tell that they are FAR from hollywood, darkstone is a low budget company, and they are fans of the original, so i will give them the benefit of the doubt, i will see this movie, when it arrives… hell ill be first in line if i can, and all of you that say you wont see it, i guarantee that you will see it, maybe not at the premier, maybe not when it comes to dvd, but eventually, your curiosity will win out… and you’ll see it.
