Various sources have compared the screen treatment for this film to the “Saw” franchise. Here is the official news from Romeo’s website:
Master P and Romeo, the father and son duo are set to star in the upcoming horror film, The Pig People – a big screen horror film with franchise potential.
The Pig People is a frightening tale of five college students who dare to venture into a haunted forest to shoot a documentary for their film class. The subject: an 18th century Louisiana myth surrounding the fearsome, half-human, half-swine Pig People. The teens seek answers to long-forgotten questions, but the truth will only lead to suffering and death. Follow them on a dark and perilous journey into the world of The Pig People.
The Pig People is a Vault Load film production, co-starring Daeg Faerch (of Halloween) and is directed by David Gueringer, executive produced by Jimmy Finkl, with cinematography by Teruhisa Yoshida, and creature effects by Vincent Guastin.
Teenage superstar Romeo plays TJ, one of the five students that venture into the woods to document the myth, while Master P takes on a more sinister role as the film’s villain.
“I’ve never done a horror movie before,” said Romeo who is fulfilling his on-camera obligations before heading off to college to be a film major and a student athlete at USC. “It’s a different kind of acting and the challenge is really allowing me to take my game to the next level. We’re gonna make the audience jump out of their sears with this.”
Master P and Romeo made history as the first father and son of hip-hop, now they are out to do it again for the horror genre starring alongside each other. The Pig People is coming in 2009.

Great now we can expect Bill Ray and Miley Cyrus to star in horror films next.
