Kim Henkel, who co-created the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre with Tober Hooper, has a new script based on the Leatherface character, according to Fangoria. His only comments are the Platinum Dunes (the company that produced the remake and its sequel) will not be producing and that the story will be set in the present.
Ordinarily, a co-creator of a classic returning to his roots would be cause for celebration, but this is not the first trip down this road for Kim Henkel. His last attempt at a TCM film was the universally despised “Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation” in 1994.
