You like Part 3?
I thought it was the worst of the series, but that it was still a good flick and not worthy of the hate that a lot of people have given it.

I don't hate it, just think it's meh. I own it. Shame Raimi couldn't keep his hate in check and deliver better with the best villain at his fingertips.

The blame is squarely on Sony. Raimi didn't want Venom in the mix because he already had his movie planned out and Venom was to be the focus of part 4. Sony forced Venom onto Raimi so he had to squeeze them all in instead of giving Venom the treatment he deserved in part 4.

Then he should have told them if you want Venom we need to retool the script and make him the focus and get rid of this other crap.

Start over from scratch and delay the film for possibly another year? I don't think Sony would have gone for that. The guy makes SM2, one of the best, if not THE best comic book movie to date, and the corporate stuffed suits want to fuck with his process? Fuck Sony, they should have just left him alone.

If Raimi didn't let his hate fester, and started writing with Venom in mind from the get go knowing full well it was what the fans and studio wanted, all would have been pleased. But no, he had to go spinning his wheels off into Sandman land.

Like I said, I wouldn't question anyone who made a film like SM2. Stand back and let him work his magic. If that means saving Venom for a part 4, so be it. At least we would have had it at some point instead of this reboot shit. Bonehead move.

Except, SM3 was the most successful and they still chose to reboot it. If he gave an epic Venom treatment, they might still be going.

Nope, they chose to reboot it because Raimi finally told Sony to fuck off. They fucked him over on part 3 and he went along with it. For part 4, they tried taking away even more of his creative control and he finally stood up for himself and said he wasn't havin' it. That's why we now have a reboot.

But if he chose to do the epic Venom treatment all along, everyone would be happy campers, no in-fighting would be necessary.

They fucked with him after an epic SM2, what makes you think there wouldn't be a repeat? The studio always thinks they know best. All they know how to do is fuck up a good thing because they can't see past their own greed.

They might have, but wouldn't you prefer it if they fucked with him after an epic Venom treatment?

Not with that casting... :p Some weird guy who was in the strange adaptation of the Japanese novel. . . Not really a hero looking guy.

In a perfect world we'd have a perfect Venom, but we don't and I blame Sony. Fuck'em in their corporate asses. :fucku

Meh, so far, he seems to have Spidey's smart ass attitude down and he's just a kid, so his look doesn't bother me that much. The suit on the other hand is horrible.

Damn, I was trying to stay positive about the suit. :hurt

The eye thing is weird, but the rest is surely pretty much what all spidey suits look like, no?

No. There's all kinds of weird color patterns going on and it looks dirty like a pair of old sneakers. :hurt

I thought that was the lighting of the shots. To be fair, I'm not a comicbook fan and didn't much like the previous Spiderman films, so I'm probably not a great judge.

Spider-Man's first costume had webbing in between the arms. Changed after five issues of so if I recall correctly.:p

See Spider-Man's costume while a member of FF right now? It's white and cool.:p

Yep, kinda like a skydiver's squirrel suit. They kept that around, off and on for many years though.

I like it, just reminds me of something that Chameleon might wear. Not sure about the eyeballs, either.

Now, I'm a comic geek but I did find it sad that Human Torch died (if he's still dead :p)> I own Fantastic Four #588 (last issue; impact of Human Torch's death) and it's amazing how much emotion you can get from it when there are no words in the main story.

Yeah, I think killing off main characters like that is a bunch of bullshit. I stopped following Spider-Man comics when they got into the clone saga and basically said that this whole time, Pete was a clone. They jumped the shark, as far as I was concerned. I heard that years later they unmasked him, exposing his identity to the world, and then killed him off a few years after that. Now there's some black guy swinging around, pretending to be Spider-Man. Whatevs, it's ridiculous.

That black guy is only for Ultimate Marvel. What's so confusing to people? The black guy is not in the 616 Universe and thus it doesn't matter.:p

Like I said, I'm not following and that's just what I heard. They can have 100 different Spidey's for all I care, there will always only be one true Pete. :thumb
