When I think of the Phantasm series, I generally think of them as one long film.  They all start off right where the last one ended(the exception being the break between parts 1 and 2 in which Mike has been in an institution the whole time).  So, I guess I'll just pick the first because it starts the series off with horror, cheese, midget zombies, flying killer balls, and an ice cream man who becomes the hero.

What Foo said.

2 is also a lot more entertaining than the rest, IMO.

Hmm, this is a tough one. I guess it'll be a toss up between 1 and 2.

I saw part 2 a couple days ago and it was really great. I liked it better than the 1st but the 1st was great too.

Out of the three I saw, 2, 3 and 4, I would say by far number 2. I tend to think of number 2 as a massive node to Evil Dead. It just strikes me as that so I rank this film highly. Also that screen shot of all the dug up graves was a real sight to be seen.

Maybe it's a mistake. Maybe they caught the sequels on tv. Could be anything.

Simple answer. The video store that I work at does not have the first one. It only has the last three, so that's what I'm stuck with.

I love the first one above all others, but I really like the 4th as well.

I really fucking hated #2, I just recently saw it on cable and was really disappointed.

#3 is sitting on a shelf waiting for me to get around to opening and watching it.

I'll vote once I've actually seen #3...

Really? I haven't seen 2 and refuse to use a VCR but word around the campfire (campfire= Foo) is that 2 was pretty badass.
