Jason is not a rip off of Michael Myers and it really ticks me off when people say that stupid shit:evil There are major differences between the two characters, Michael is mroe inteligent and seems to (for some reason) not scar very much from all the damage he takes. (still can't take as much as Jason) Michael as far as i know has never died in any of his films

Jason we all know can't die but has been taken down once by Tommy Jarvis and again in Jason Goes to Hell. Jason is not as smart as Michael but is not a complete dumbass either pay attention to the films and you will see for yourself. Yes there are similarities they both ware mask and don't talk.

So now that i've said this for the 500th fucking time i'm dropping it

Well yeah, just because they're similar doesn't mean one is a clone of the other. I kinda see Jason as the new and improved version of Michael.

i dont see them as versions.... jason is jason *shudders* , and myers is myers.. they are two different characters just that they have a few similarities..

OK fine. But you can't say that Michael gets the job done better. Typically I wouldn't bring body count up but because of their similarities and how often they are compared to one another but as we all know Jason has killed hundreds more than Michael and that has nothing to do with the speed that they kill their victims, which is just about the same. Jason spends less time stalking his victims and just gets down to business. There's nothing sadistic in either of their actions so I wouldn't compare Freddy or Pinhead to either Jason or Michael in terms of body count.

*trying to remain unbiased* i think that myers has a better record.. he may not have the numbers, jason does.. but to my knowledge he has killed most of the people who have come up against him.. am i wrong? also he thinks his kills out more than jason does from what i've seen.

also bodycount shouldn't make a difference on which icon is better... norman bates only got a few people (2 in the original i dont know about the sequels).. but he is one of the most well known icons!

Well I have noticed that Jason doesn't seem to be after those that managed to defeat him in the last movie. Guess it's just not important to him. Norman Bates was the 1st true slasher, that's why he's so popular. Plus he's got personality, something that both Jason and Michael seem to lack. I also don't really see how Michael planning his kills out makes him a better killer... With so many similarities, I had to fall back on body count.

i wouldnt fall back on bodycount... though you havent seen sleepaway camp (just in the original).. the killer there has some traits similiar to jason and myers... quick kills, no talking, using various things to kill people, and (in common with jason) killing on a campground.. and the killer has less bodycount, but isn't necessarily a worse icon because of that.

As we've said, I haven't seen it so I couldn't tell you. Would you mind explaining to me how Michael planning his kills out makes him any better? Jason's kills are largely improvised so it shows that he thinks on his feet and still he has more creativity.

i wasn't saying myers is the better killer.. just has a different way of going about his kills.. so they shouldnt be compared on bodycount..

Isn't there a certain bias in every poll?

yeah i suppose.. but i didn't vote in the poll.. and i was just trying to show that jason shouldnt be considered a ripoff or a better version of michael myers.. they are two different characters... whether one is better than the other is up to opinion.. but i dont think they should be seen as so close that one is a version of the other.. whether bad or good...

you could compare freddy to pinhead.. because both are sadistic, like to torture victims, talk while they're doing their work, both are demonic.. etc but that doesn't mean that pinhead is a ripoff or a better version of freddy!
