I can see it now.  Ash tells the kid about how he lost his hand and the kid thinks he's full of shit.  He heads out to the cabin to check it out and all hell breaks loose.  We could even have Ash return to stomp some deadite ass as he comes to rescue his kid once he finds out he's gone.  I think I like this idea much better than a remake.

This is true, but it could easily be a flashback clip from Army, because Marco is the one that edited the avy for Slaughter, if I remember right, so he should know his materials :p

What, Army didn't have a shitload of flashbacks in the beginning? It's been a while since I watched it, so that shot could've been among them. *needs clarification from an avid Army watcher*

And I'm serious about Marco editing that avy.

They would. As Sam clarified on the commentary track "Alot of people wonder is this a remake, or is Ash really that stupid that he'd go back to the same cabin again? And the answer is yes he is."

lol, I remember that. I loved those ED commentaries.

Oh I am sure you are serious.... I don't even know for sure if that is a clip from Evil Dead.. I said I THINK.. I was waiting for verification. I am watching AOD now and looking out for that scene...  But as far as Justin Long being the new Ash.. no I don't see it.. Ryan Reynolds.. yeah I can see him doing it.. but no  one will ever be as good as Bruce..

I know for a fact it's from EDII, I just think it could possibly be clipped in the beginning of Army as well. But I don't know for sure.

Reynolds...I like him, but I'm not sure.

He has leading man presence, can be serious, but more often than not is a goofball and his comedic deliveries are always spot on. Having seen just how he fits in a Raimi movie, I think he'd be an awesome replacement.
I could see Bruce training new employee Justin at S-mart where Justin finds the Necronomicon in Bruce's locker (cuz ASH is that dumb :p), reads it a little, then goes to ask Ash what it is as all Hell breaks out at S-Mart. Kind of a passing of the torch.

It would be funny if it was the same guy from Drag Me To Hell :p
