This movie looks really good. After only being played in like 5 major cities, the official movie page created a petition to get 1,000,000 signatures to make this movie a major movie release.

They did it, and now on Tuesday, October 13th (not certain on date), they will release the theater listings.

What do you guys think?

I think it's a great flick. I'm still a little shocked at how effective it was.

I've got it posted in the recently viewed movie thread :p

I thought it was damn good. The director of the movie did a damn good job setting up the pace, where while my theatre was crowded and rowdy to start, by the second or third night (there's a stationary camera) the whole theatre would go quiet anticipating what is (not "might"... "IS") going to happen. It's use of sound is marvelous, and makes the demon in the flick sound incredibly heavy and gradually its footsteps are louder and louder, obviously more pissed off and aggravated. The boyfriend serves as an excellent guide as to what NOT to do in the case of a demon haunting.

It felt pretty intense the entire picture, and it left me with some good tingles at the lower end of my spine through the next day. It's not gory (sorry Reign) but it's got some make-up work to show some effect the demon is having on the girl.

Sounds fuckin awesome. I've been waiting for a "scary" movie lately. I hope Sioux Falls gets the movie, I really want to watch it.

Lol, why is that directed at me? The Entity isn't gory, and that rocks. It's ghost/demon flick, so I'm not really expecting gore. If it's effective it's effective, and I like what you said in the other thread, that it is Blair Witch-ish, but they actually show shit happening, so that leaves me anticipating it more.

I know two people who have seen it, both had very different opinions. One thought it was very effective and overall pretty shocking. The other one thought it was dull and predictable.

I can see it being predictable in the sense that, if you know badmouthing a demon is gonna piss it off and make it act progressivly violent, well yeah that happens :p

Paranormal Activity - I never thought I'd get to see the day that I could say I've seen a movie that came halfway near as terrifying as The Exorcist. Last night, I saw the 10:25 PM showing of Paranormal Activity. This movie was hyped up to be one of the most terrifying movies in film history. Guess what? It was. I didn't allow myself to read many revealing reviews about it. I wanted to go in quite a bit clueless, which was perfect! The small reviews that I did read said that there were people sitting next to them in the theater with their eyes closed for more than half the movie. People ran out of the theater crying. Grown men and women! That's what sold me. I just read that Steven Spielberg was so terrified that he had to stop the movie halfway through. Yes. Steven Spielberg. WHAT A FILM. WHAT. A. FILM. Not only did it come halfway near as terrifying as The Exorcist, it's just about up there with it. This film is a MUST SEE. Especially in theaters.

SEE THIS FUCKIN' FILM!

So, considering how I thought the Exorcist was more humorous than terrifying, should I take it that this is funnier than the Exorcist? I find that hard to believe. A little girl stabbing her crotch with a cross while screaming fuck me jesus is hard to top. :P

The film has it's humor. INTENTIONAL humor.  :p

Nothing goes on like Regan stabbing herself. I don't find anything like that funny, but I guess I can understand that some people do find it funny. If I were to guess, I would say this one would creep you out more than The Exorcist would.

I was being rhetorical as I hate ghost films. There's only a couple that I think are worth a damn, the rest put me to sleep.

Nice to see others trickling in seeing it.

I honestly think some of the Steven Spielberg stories are rumors or even jokes started by him.
