(Reviewed by Snake-666) - Probably the worst movie I have
ever seen. In this abysmal horror movie a young man who is being
picked upon by a local gang uses a voodoo spell to bring to life his only
friend, a clown toy named Killjoy. Unfortunately for the guy, Michael (Jamal
Grimes), he is murdered before the spell fully takes effect which leaves the
demonic Killjoy (Angel Vargas) to reap revenge.
I think this movie is an absolute disaster and should never have been made.
The plot strains the lines of credibility far too much until the story
itself becomes ludicrous and uninteresting. On top of that much of the film
seemed rather pointless and even with the short running time of ‘Killjoy'
the movie seemed to drag. The ending was also somewhat of an incoherent
mess.
I consider myself to be a fan of low-budget horror movies but in the case of
‘Killjoy' I'm willing to make an exception. It seems for this movie that
most of the budget was spent on marijuana which was used during a rather
unnecessary scene in the film involving the three gang members. The acting
was sub-standard from each cast member and not really worth commenting on at
all as was the direction. The only redeemable feature this movie has is the
quality of the cameras used to film it, other than that everything else is
poor.
I personally wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone, in fact I would prefer
to watch atrocious movies like ‘Camp Blood' and ‘Fear Runs Silent' over
this turkey. My rating for ‘Killjoy' – 1/10 (and that's being generous). |
