NFL 2018: From the Draft to the Super Bowl

Post by Tiggnutz »

I am no Suh fan but the Rams do look to be a pretty vicious defensive team this year coupled with a good young offense.

Jets swooped in ahead of Denver and are gonna take Josh Rosen at 3. The question is whether or not Denver will take Baker Mayfield/Josh Allen at 3, maybe even Barkley or trade down.

If Darnold or Rosen is available, I will take either one of them, but that is not going to happen. Would prefer Denver trade down and draft a high profile guard or tackle. The offensive line is the weakest link, and the offensive line is the meat & potatoes of the NFL.

Dude, they obtained the nastiest fucking defense in the league practically overnight. They now likely have the best cornerback combo in the league with Talib and Peters, just got Suh's scary ass and they have the undisputed greatest defensive coordinator in the game. Don't be shocked to see a potential all-time great defense with the 2018 Rams that is almost on the level of the 2015 Broncos. Obtaining Talib and Peters is going to give Phillips so much freedom to blitz. It's going to be insane.

They still don’t have any edge rushers or linebackers but they’ll dominate most teams with Suh/Donald alone.
Not removing until John Elway is fired.

Aside from Denver, they are my most highly anticipated team to watch in 2018. Last year I think was K.C...

Denver? Lol.

Agree the Rams have gotten very good defensively. The real question is whether Goff can be the winner they need.

Denver is my favorite team, so I don't count them.

My mistake, a 31 year old DT clearly has many fine years ahead of him.

Any pro bowl type seasons he has moving forward are outliers at his position. Not saying it can't happen, but he is just as likely to become a role player or cut than be a star at any given point now.

Post age 31, the falloff can be sudden.

He's on a one year deal, I don't think the Rams care about "many fine years". He'll be fine.

I saw that. Bit weird. He’s been a really good punter for us. Why would we get rid of him. Janikowski I kind of get given his age and all. But King was oretty young and still an asset. Hopefully Gruden knows what he’s doing. Been a lot of moves this offseason.

Hard to say. Apparently guys in the locker room were a bit dumbfounded, but they're saying it was completely Gruden's decision and was sent as some sort of message to the team. Maybe there is something behind the scenes with King that we just don't know about.

90% of free agent deals are one year in reality. I am just tempering the notion they added a great player with the reality that the norm for a player at his age and position is that they are a shell of their previous greatness and decline very rapidly.

I saw the Eagles signed Haloti Ngata, and that is pretty much his career. Considered a top player still right around this age, and then a banged up role player vying for roster spots in a year's time.

Hell, Peyton Manning went from God tier to caretaker in the middle of a season. We might be seeing that identical thing with Brady.

Because he is an asshole who celebrates after punts. Clearly it is an attempt to change the culture.

What Fooski says is true. However, if Suh has a typical Suh year, look the fuck out! But yeah.

Gruden doesn't have a clue what he's doing. What the Raiders have done this offseason is sad given how much promise the team had 2-3 years ago.
