Tom Petty Dies; Bob Seger Cancels Upcoming Tour Dates

Post by Jason »

I tried like hell back in September to win tickets to what would be Tom Petty's last concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Couldn't win them, and he ended up dying a week or two later. Bob Seger was supposed to perform at the Forum in L.A. on November 4th with Ann Wilson of Heart. I strongly considered going to that event. But the day after Tom Petty died, Seger was forced to cancel a bunch of tour dates due to a doctor concerned with an emergency medial issue regarding his vertebrae.

Ever since Tom Petty died, I've been listening to his music with somber ears. I love Tom Petty, he is definitely one of my top 20 favorite musicians. Bob Seger is absolutely one of my all-time favorite musicians. Undoubtedly a top-fiver. I have to see him at least one time in life. Especially if its with Ann Wilson.

I've seen Lynyrd Skynryd live, Boston, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon. Styx, Heart. Hopefully Iron Maiden and Metallica don't count as classic. Think that's it.

Jason,

There are quite a few musicians I would like to see put out of their misery. If I send you a list and you would try to attend their next concerts, that would be great.

TIA, Foo.

I like Petty. He no better than Seger, however. I will let Jason handle this, before I drop a chainsaw on your candy ass. Jason, kill him!

Foreigner twice, Styx, Kansas and CCR minus the Fogerty boys.

Seger is deep as hell, dude. Tom Petty is probably more "fun" overall, but Jesus Christ. Seger almost rivals The Doors and Zeppelin for me.
