I just came across another article about a possible Gremlins 3 and Goonies sequel.

I've seen Goonies once, like a million years ago and don't recall much about it but I doubt a sequel is even necessary given the child actors are all grown. For me it's right there with Adventures in Babysitting or Don't Tell Mom the Baby Sitter is Dead. It was a one time watch only.

Gremlins 3 is another that I don't want. They should have done it sometime in the 90's but after the cluster that was part 2 I could care less. A remake would be a better idea and this time make it a true dark & gritty horror film. I love the original, it worked well but I would like to see a hardcore R rated straight horror version of the concept that takes itself more seriously.

adventures in babysitting is a lot of fun. i've seen it many more times than i've seen the goonies. but not quite as many as gremlins. that said, you could just make a new film in the spirit of a goonies or a gremlins, rather than a sequel.

Technically that new Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew is basically goonies in space. lol

But I agree. Making new stand alone films in the spirit of those originals is one way they could go. But with Legacy sequels now the new "go to thing" for Hollywood it seems more likely that's what we will get. Now some of these Legacy films have been good but there are just as many that were train wrecks. (i.e. Beetlejuice 2) so I'd rather it not get out of hand like what happened with remake fever in the 00's.

I'm sure Zach would be down but Phoebe is retired from acting so that's not happening. :P

I'm looking forward to Andor season 2!

we have our own club favoritism. :P
Yeah, no F13 bullshit allowed.

I thought everyone liked The New Batch? But I like the idea of it going hardcore horror, in which I'd advocate a remake as the original 2 are supposed to have a more friendly charm, leave those intact.

The Goonies they will probably do the cliche of the Goons are old men and now some of their kids band together for an adventure. Probably all females. Seen that play out before.

I don't hate it but it's definitely not on par with the first one. It was more campy and just not my speed.
The Hulk Hogan cameo was fun though. :P
