How Would You Deal With North Korea

It will get heated. Can't take it, don't open the forum.

My main problem is Trump pretty much dismissing NK sending back an American dead. That really was a sign of weakness to me. If he can give Kim a pass on that, what else will he allow Kim to get away with? I guess we will see.

The reason it’s horseshit is because meeting with no concessions does one thing and one thing only. Legitimizes the regime.

Seb, can you please stop with the mental gymnastics? Whining about Trump single-handedly bringing peace in Korea is just silly.

I didn’t think it made any difference other than to give Kim a press field day and a photo op to show him bending the US to his will. You’re the one claiming it was 5-D superchess or whatever. It won’t hurt the lack of progress any. It also solves fuck-all.

He said he believed Kim. It's right there. I know it's the New York Times, but they used his actual words. Let's see how you twist them. Lol

Hmm. Nope. Nothing to twist here. I am not partial to either side. I can observe strategic moves and predict outcomes politically. However, this is a personal moment with little public insight into the discussion. Any opinion on this subject, other than an impartial one, is disingenuous.

Your 4D chess post belies your lack of understanding how this narrative works.

You don't even try to hide the flip-flopping, mental gymnastics.

There’s no mental gymnastics. Your point is that Trump has mad Kim not be able to back down to avoid showing a loss of face. Which isn’t really Korean culture or how that works, but even if it was it omits the totality of cintrol of the media and how they can spin stuff. They’d never know if there was any kind of faux pas as they get fed exactly the only narrative Kim wants them to. Imagine if the only news anyone in the US was ever given was Breitbart and nothing else ever. Everyone would be a right wing nutter.
