This is where I lose it. I can't really see right now, I'm handcuffed, for god knows how long. Under normal circumstances, this shit would be getting taken care of by now, but nope, the world has to go crawl into a vagina right now.

If your frame broke, it won't take long to fix since they can just take your lenses and put them in a new frame. If it's the lenses, that sucks. Either way, call up your optometrist and get them on that shit asap. They should still be open and have your prescription on file, so you only need to go there to pick them up when they are done(assuming it's the frame, otherwise, you'd need to drop off your frame if it's the lenses). You may want to get a spare pair in case that shit happens again. I keep a pair in my car in case I break 'em while I'm out. That Twilight Zone episode made me realize I needed to be prepared for that shit.

And it's been 5 years I've had these glasses, never a scratch, never needed a backup, until now. Fuck you Mickey!

I can’t read a single thing at any distance unless the letters are obnoxiously huge if I don’t have my glasses on. And I haven’t had a backup pair in some time. I never even think about how fucking crazy that is, just totally living on the edge with the potential to be fucked at any moment.

I can see about four inches in front of me without my glasses. Beyond that is a pixelated mess due to near sightedness, astigmatism, and hypertropia. Gotta have a backup, because I'm fucked otherwise.

Get a cheap backup pair through Zenni optical. I've gotten them as cheap as $30 for a prescription pair including taxes and shipping. Takes a little while to get them (like 3-4 weeks or so) but having that backup pair is crucial for me. Mine broke way back and everything was basically doubled until I could get another pair. The plus side with me is if I squint I can see fine distance or up close (my prescription is plano with a moderate correction for astigmatism), the downside is if I squint too long, I get a raging headache. If I don't squint then I see two of everything overlaying each other with a blur effect going, which also results in a raging headache and a nausea bonus.
