That's not a horror film. It's weird, sure, but not horror by any means.

Really. IMDB lists it solely as horror. I heard it called body-horror in the book I just finished

It's closer to more like The Lighthouse with horror. It's more of a *feel* than the actual narrative. I don't think Lynch has done a full horror film yet, though that and Lost Highway feel close.

Tis true. Weird art shit is a style, not a genre.

You misunderstand my use of it. One, I'm an old cranky bastard that gets crankier by the day. But yeah, I say art shit in regards to films that are made with the sole purpose of being art with total disregard to any sort of plot, interesting characters, or entertainment value. Just art for the sake of art. This is great for fans of film as art. I have always said that I watch films for pure entertainment purposes, so art films are the antithesis of good film to me. Being the cranky fucker I am, I call these films shit.

well. that comes more to personal preference. you can see something is more on the artistic side (subtext, imagery. etc) or more just straight forward plot and characters, whether you like it or don't like it.
