I’ll see what Prime, Netflix and maybe terrestrial TV has to offer. Nothing I was particularly after. Maybe there should be.

Wasn't sure what I was gonna start off with first. But now that I'm applied to that Stephen King-o-thon thing and won't know if I've been accepted until Oct. 22, I'll have to put off any Stephen King movies until then.

Wal Mart has the entire collection of the original Dracula, Frankenstein and Wolf Man flicks. I bought 'em. They had the Creature of the Black Lagoon, but it's only three movies and I already own the first.

Hey all, please let me know what movies below WOULD NOT count for the Challenge. I may have asked a few of these before, but looking for a final consensus I guess.

1) King Kong (1933)
2) Scanners (1981)
3) Aliens (1986) - I've heard mixed things about this one
4) Eraserhead (1977)
5) The Dead Zone (1983)
6) Hide and Seek (2005)
7) Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964)

Also, TCM will be playing a handful of Godzilla movies. Do Godzilla movies count as horror? Do only some of them? I'd think the first would be fine, but any after that, be it Godzilla Raids Again or Mothra vs. Godzilla, I don't have the slightest clue on.

Thanks in advance. Just trying to get things cleared up beforehand.

Not so sure about King Kong. Sure, they're big animals, but it definitely leans in the adventure area with no horror build up.

I have not seen Ghidorah to judge. I know the Godzilla movies bounce from Giant Monster Horror to Giant Monster goof-fests, and not sure which side of the fence Ghidorah falls on.

King Kong is probably the only one I wouldn't consider for October.

Sounds good. Despite being a fan of classic films, never seen that one, so I'll push it back for later. *thumbsup*

did ghidorah have his own movie? i was unaware. that's pretty cool, if he did.

as for the question, i would call all of those horror (that i've seen) except for dead zone.

and i consider gojira or godzilla: king of the monsters to be the only really safe horror bets of those films. but my history of horror categorization is spotty. :P

I'd say if it feels like horror to you, then you should count it. Aliens feels like an action flick to me, so I'd never count it, but I would take no issue with others doing so.
