I didn't suggest anyone suggested that.

"America will never be a socialist country"
-The Don

Among the best SotU speeches of all time. And that zoom on Bernie after Trump's anti-socialism quote was fucking beautiful. Was awkward watching Nancy chew on her dentures all night, though.

I'm gonna love bumping this thread.
As exactly predicted, Trump 180'd the shutdown blame to the dems, his 4D chess proved to be too much for Pelosi and the SotU speech went exactly as planned and predicted in my opening post. 1.4 billion to wall funding alone, and an additional 23 billion to border security. That's a lot more money than the dime everyone seemed to think he wouldn't even get, and he's still not happy with it. He has Pelosi by her balls, right now. He could not have played the shutdown more brilliantly. He is rivaling Honest Abe for GOAT prez at this point.

Oh, and *bump. (Never question me again, plz)

Except for the bit where he now got less than he was offered before the shutdown and it’s specifically for fencing. And it’s a big loss for Trump, and he clearly got brutally played by Speaker Pelosi I To owning the shutdown repeatedly. But otherwise, sure, 4D whatever

Dude he got less money than he would of gotten without shutting down the government so to be precise he shut the government down to get less money. That's not winning it's not even breaking even.

Trumpism is a cult. If he says he's winning, he's winning. That's how this stuff works.

Don’t ask us, ask all the right wing fix pundits who are upset at this failure to negotiate and to lose ground. He’s literally lost $225M for any kind of border construction and still has $0 for a wall. 0$ for steel slate that are beautiful. What he has is 55 miles of fencing. Less fencing than he had before the shutdown. Less money than before the shutdown. And less credibility as a negotiator. He’s lost to Pelosi by every metric here and he’s out of cards to play in negotiations. The latest is that he intends to circumvent Congress. Bet that’s a smart move now that Democrats own congress.

No shit. He's said in his own words that the idea of the border wall will be a steel barrier. Basically an enormous fence with plates of armor at the top. It's nowhere near as expensive to build as some of the other proposals. Were you expecting The Great Wall of the United States? Brick-by-brick a 10 foot wide, 15 foot tall stone embankment with moats and medieval turrets or some shit? When you think of the wall, do you think of the Great Wall of China as opposed to modern wall construction?

That would never happen, wouldn't make economic sense at all. Wouldn't be as sturdy, wouldn't be anywhere near as easy to maintain, and likely wouldn't be as defensively valuable as the barrier he wants to put up, which has been shown to work (ask Jim Acosta, LMAO).

trump is playing the big picture. he wanted to shut down the government so he could blame it on the democrats. and he wanted to accept less funding for the wall, so he could blame it on the democrats. everything he does wrong, and every time he comes out short is their fault now. clearly.

No. That is silly. He wouldn't jeopardize core support by intentionally take less money for wall funding so he could blame the democrats. He said in his own words that he'll take the blame for the shutdown if the democrats negotiate. He turned the tables on them by reopening it temporarily. This is why they are now talking. Remember why it was shut down in the first place? Because the democrats refused to listen to any offers? Look where we're at now. Not only are they listening, but they are throwing in their own offers as well. He's backing them into a corner, because if they refuse to cooperate, they will undeniably have to eat the blame.

Lol. What?

The government was shut down because Pelosi absolutely refused to negotiate. He got her to step back and cave, now she's offering billions and he's still not taken it yet. Remember, he hasn't taken any money yet. Trump also benefits from the fact that the idea of a border wall is extremely popular, no matter how bad the media tries to deflect, coupled with the fact that dozens of House democrats are pressured because they are in red districts. Many of which have said they'd vote yes on whatever Trump proposes as far as wall and security.

Pelosi isn't exactly a retard. She understands the concept of leverage, for which she has none, and is being absolutely outplayed. Watching some of you (not zomb) backtrack in this thread is both hilarious and kind of surprising. Going out of your way to disapprove is unbecoming. Be honest with yourselves.

so, you think he's going to end up getting more funding than what they are offering now? (which is less than what they were offering before) i guess we'll see.
