Grocery store is so weird here. (I just came back) They have a band playing this morning. Guy on the mic was testing it by saying the cashier's names in a weird way. Foofy place. They also offer yoga. No way in hell I'm sticking my ass in the air for 40 minutes while people grocery shop around me. :?

Also, nobody laughed at the window scene, it’s terrifying, and nobody should aim to always be the boss, that’s not Foo’s point.
his ultimate point was find a way to be happy, but don't ever do pot. he also asked that we should live up to his standard, but that wasn't his ultimate point, i get that.
I mean, who the hell cares if a quote that rings 100% true was said by a capitalist? We should disregard anything said by anyone whose political ideology we don't align with? That's just insane to me.
Dude, I was joking.

No you weren’t.

Pretty sure I was. Even someone who agrees with a system I don't can say good things. In isolated quotes, Trump's said things I agree with.

That Ford quote is no different than what you'd find in a fortune cookie, and I don't automatically throw those out the window either.

Well, at best you were mocking something that should resonate with you.

Circling back, love smoking weed but it should be an accessory or an enhancer to your good days. As a pick me up, it's kind of a waste and not even terribly effective.

Sharing a few joints with your friends to celebrate a personal/group success: great

Smoking by yourself to feel better: not so great

Generic "you can do it" quotes are pretty much useless, in my opinion.

Closest friends I have are a few hours away, so not always a choice.

You get out of it what you want to get out of it. You should be more confident in your abilities though.

I live in a country where I could go days without hearing English if I just walked around. Like-minded people are around you. You have to find them.

I like the idea of walking around Indiana (a state where weed isn't legal even medically) and saying "Anyone want to get high and watch horror movies?" :P

I get that both you and Foo are legitimately trying to give me advice to better myself. I am, however, trying to do so myself in my own way.

Do you not have neighbors? Co-workers? Are there local events? Bars? The possibilities are not as limited as you make them out to be.

If you want to do it your way, by all means. But if it's not working, don't be so proud as to not be honest with yourself.

"self defeatist" is a major flaw of mine that i need to find a way to move past. but i am trying. that was never my main point though. if foo had said what you said, i would have agreed 100%. my first advice to anyone would be don't be like me. and i even said as much in the thread.

are you trying or are you dreaming?

I know lots of people who have been "trying" to do things for years and years, yet they have produced almost nothing to show for it. The guy who is going to open his hot dog cart every spring for the last five years but is still perfecting his chili recipe...

both, depending on what you're asking about. changing my self hatred/self defeatist-ness? i guess i'm dreaming for lack of knowing what to try. or if it's something that i can change, or just something that i have to learn to keep in check.

To anyone who is concerned, Wishmaster II is indeed as unmemorable as I was able to recall.

Regarding the self hatred/defeatedness, you're not going to do anything but dream. It's going to be a chemical thing in your brain that makes you feel that way. There are drugs to ease it, but never a cure. It sucks, and people who don't suffer from it will never understand it. They'll just think you're sad and just cheering up will fix it...
