Pretty sure someone just died outside my apartment complex tbh.

Of course I can't be bothered to go outside and ask.

As long as it doesn't smell, why would you do that?

There is no water or lemonade stand, Headward. If there was, speed dial for 911 would be broken.

Cannibalising a chunk of story I'd written over a year ago and putting it into this book. That story that was meant to be a book wasn't going anywhere, but now with some modifications, it can work great for backstory fluff of a character. So now it's like a long short story inside of the book.

Would The Matrix be viewed more favorably if they did not make those sequels?

Likely.

Haven't seen the sequels, though. And only watched the Matrix one time like 9 years ago.

Dunno. Didn't think that highly of it when it came out.

I thought it was some bullshit. Rented it because of the hype at the time. Never watched the sequels.

I was talked into seeing it in the theatre from friends. I mean, it wasn't total dogshit, but I didn't see this amazing messiah of movie making my peers were making it out to be.

At that moment in time, I thought it was pretty great. Revolutionary effects and action, topical plot, stylish.

The rotating camera trick was neat though.

Funny story, I've been asking for this extra week of vacation for three of my coworkers for the past few years (I don't remember if I've complained about it on here or not, but I know I've complained about it) and after three or four years of being told they weren't eligible (one was absolutely eligible last year and she got it after getting pissed about being told no initially) I was just told that one of the other two has been eligible since 2016 but I had to ask for the time for them...they are going to give her 2017 retroactively thankfully, and 2018 because she's due, but they are only giving here these extra two weeks because she's going to be out for four weeks due to back surgery that she's having tomorrow.

I'm pissed. I'm looking for another job because I can't handle the level of inept leadership around here. My boss is a great person, but a fucking shitty boss. I have asked and asked and asked about that extra week for all three of my co-workers that I was pretty sure had earned it, but didn't have access to the files to find out for sure. My boss has told the board that neither she nor I knew we had to ask for it. I know my fucking job and I know that I have asked for that week for them repeatedly, so now I'm assuming that when I asked my boss to ask about it, she just didn't and that pisses me off.

And my boss just called me and told me she's in the hospital because she apparently has to have her gallbladder removed tomorrow (not something she knew about ahead of time, it was an emergency thing so I don't fault her that) but she asked if I could stay on in the morning to settle in a new employee and such. I got about three hours of sleep today.
