My old bass player has been on the Keto diet for a year and a few months. He went from 280 pounds to 180. He looks 20 years younger too. It's crazy his transformation. Same with his wife. She looks amazing. The wife and I tried it, but gave up after a week lol.
Also, he is off two of his heart meds now. He was also pre diabetic and now is in the clear. I'm sold.
I'm going at it light right now. Transitioning, basically. I'm gonna have to tinker my chili recipe though, to make it more satisfying without the beans. I've got some ideas.

Fry some sausage with green peppers and onions. Cook it with the beans for a bit. That's a good side dish.

Even in Ohio, you have to have A/C. From early May through October.
