Still a better character than Ghost from Ginger Snaps Unleashed. :p

Yes, and I used Supergirl as the primary example. And used Springsteen as another example of an opposing viewpoint who is my all time favorite musician. Why would you care at all how a movie feels about your politics? Why would it need to “respect your politics”? It’s a movie, not rule of law. Stop addressing it from a place of lecture and address it like a normal human being in a civilized world? Whining about white men does nothing for your argument and makes you sound like a racist, petulant child.Headhunter wrote: Why would you care at all how a movie feels about your politics? Yeah. I mean, the script is a rushed mess to try to appease haters of Last Jedi (which I still really like, even though I want to fast forward the Casino stuff), but other than that it's a fun pulpy ride.Headhunter wrote:I thought it leaned into being dumb fun pretty well.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Not really, no.Reign in Blood wrote:Wow, Rise is that shitty.

Who cares how it’s addressed as long as it fits the narrative of the film?Jason wrote:Stop addressing it from a place of lecture and address it like a normal human being in a civilized world? Why does a movie need to pretend to be a person shooting the shit with you? You need your hand held too?

If the narrative of the film is being a whiny douchebag, then maybe I'm not interested in watching a film about whiny douchebags?Headhunter wrote:Who cares how it’s addressed as long as it fits the narrative of the film?Jason wrote:Stop addressing it from a place of lecture and address it like a normal human being in a civilized world? There were a few laughable moments and the casino was a cool concept forced into the film nonsensically, but apart from that I also dug The Last Jedi.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Yeah. It probably feels that way because it’s pushing back on your beliefs which are more important to you than just enjoying yourself. Older movies were significantly more preachy in the way they pushed their liberal politics, by the way. There was no subtlety and it would end with the smart, moral force giving some lecture at the end. This was pretty commonplace.Jason wrote:If the narrative of the film is being a whiny douchebag, then maybe I'm not interested in watching a film about whiny douchebags?Headhunter wrote:Who cares how it’s addressed as long as it fits the narrative of the film?Jason wrote:Stop addressing it from a place of lecture and address it like a normal human being in a civilized world?
