May 2nd, 2018
Starting my day off with the classic Das Wachsfigurenkabinett (1924). Hopefully I like it a bit more this time around as opposed to the last time I saw it.

Rainin' this mornin'. Work just canceled (who knows, might call me back in). A day off in the middle of the week is a nice little present.

Just finished Wishmaster. Something like the third time or so I've seen it, and it's always been a good, albeit b-movie quality, piece of fun.

People need to be less sensitive. Imagine if people laughed at themselves more... very healthy thing to do.

When watching Cyborg last night, I got to wondering what would be my favorite Cannon film, and I couldn't think of one that could rank higher than TCM2. Surprisingly there was a filter on Flickchart, and sure enough, TCM2 sits at the top, Bloodsport not far behind it, then Cyborg, then Kickboxer for 3rd.
Then I got curious what Canon films were considered the greatest, and TCM2 was praised very high on most sites, but this one ranked it first (and Bloodsport 2nd, though Cyborg was at a paltry 15th, boo).

I can't sit through Superman IV anymore though, I've tried but never could like it. Even as a kid.

I'm also not a big fan of The Evil Dead or Motel Hell. Finished the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake just twenty minutes ago or so. Can't believe how utterly blah it felt. Definitely didn't love it when I first saw it, but now, it just seems so bland.

Was going to finally watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation, but I'm having a bitch of a time finding the uncut 95-minute version. Best I can find is the cut 86 minute version.
If I'm going to watch a shitty movie, I'm going to watch the best version of it I can find.
Apparently the uncut version was released in Canada with a Lion's Gate logo on it, while the most commonly released version in the US is the cut version. May have to try and track down the Canadian DVD before watching this one.

Wasn't big on the remake, liked it okay at first, but rewatches just kept getting worse and worse. The only things I consistently liked were Ermy and Daniel Pearl's cinematography.Jigsaw wrote:DancesWithWerewolves wrote:That's some good ballot-box stuffing thereJigsaw wrote:Not my fault it is an absolutely shit movie.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Jiggy hated on TCM2, pretty sure he's got that crown pretty firm right nowJason wrote:Pff. It's expected to hit that again Saturday. Sucks cause it's low 60's today.Tiggnutz wrote:Could hit 90 degrees today and break the previous high temperature record.

You can watch the extended bits online. You aren't missing anything. Renee Zellweger has a couple minutes in the beginning with her abusive stepfather, then it is just a bunch of 30 second cuts for time. Letherface putting on lipstick for 30 seconds, 30 seconds of redundant dialogue, 30 seconds more of running during chases, etc.Jigsaw wrote:Was going to finally watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation, but I'm having a bitch of a time finding the uncut 95-minute version. Is the movie shitty in a good way? Still enjoyable? I don't think I've seen TCM past part 3 accept for the one with Jessica Beil because she has a great ass. Lol

Mathew Macaughnahay is pretty spectacular, but that's it. The choices they make with Leatherface is insulting, and the twist in the end is more "wtf?" rather than "give us more of that!"Jmac Attack wrote:I will check it out soon.Jason wrote:God awful, but certainly watchable.

I need a movie where the same illuminati that control the Sawyer Family and Michael Myers also developed the Voorhees worm demon.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Mathew Macaughnahay is pretty spectacular, but that's it. I think it is safe to say we all want proper sequels to JGTH, H6, and TCM:TNG, as they are all such stellar installments.
